The Petty family is heartbroken at the death of Pat McNerney Welsh. Pat was best friends with our sister, Judy, for over 50 years. We “adopted” Pat as an honorary sister. She attended our Girls’ Weekend adventures, the latest of which was to Ohio since her favorite movie “Shawshank Redemption” was partially filmed there. Her sister, Karen, accompanied us on that fun weekend. Pat was a formidable personality who often dropped everything if a friend needed her help. Pat was a loving wife, devoted mother and probably her most relished position, as a grandmother to her four wonderful granddaughters. Pat will be missed, but that is always the case when someone special crosses paths with you…they leave behind a huge vacuum but we’ll always hold her in our hearts.

I will always remember Pat for the care she provided to me while in Ohio Valley Hospital in 1979 - Every time I would see Pat and Jim at the Robinson Twp. High School reunion I always called her my nurse. My Condolences to the family. Both Jim and Pat were good people and will be sadly missed.
