Patrick “Pat” Joyce

Patrick “Pat” Joyce, 63, formerly from Lawrence, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 30, 2026. Pat was the eighth of eleven children. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Kathy/Jim Fullmer, Ryan/Audrey Joyce, Jim/Sharon Joyce, Loretta/Jim O”Brien, Nancy/Stanley Sadowski, Thelma/John Fullmer, Cliff/Dee Joyce, Lloyd and Ken Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick James Joyce and Nancy Ann Brooks, as well as his beloved sister, Becky Radcliffe.

Pat was an exceptionally gifted mechanic, a talent that seemed to come to him naturally. He enjoyed tinkering with just about anything mechanical and paid attention to every detail. Pat’s passion was his motorcycles, dirt bikes and ATVs. He was able to bring back to life many motorbikes declared to be beyond repair and would be seen test riding them around town. He was known as a daredevil and has the scars to prove it. Pat also spent many years working with his dad and brothers at South Hills Movers. He finished his working career at Guntown Cycle Den where he worked for his boss and friend Thomas.

Pat had a gentle spirit and had a soft heart, especially for working with his nephews and nieces, who have some wonderful memories of their uncle. He had many friends who loved sitting around the garage and talking with him. The family appreciates all those who visited and called Pat during his time in the nursing home and in the hospital.

Pat battled alcoholism for much of his adult life but after learning he had cirrhosis of the liver, he quit smoking and drinking cold turkey. He fought an incredible battle against his illness. Pat’s illness ultimately proved too great to overcome. During this time he gave himself to Christ and became a powerful testimony of God’s grace and love. He called many of those whom he had hurt over the years and asked them for forgiveness. Pat will be remembered, not for his past, but for his incredible finish. He loved his family and wanted them to be by his side during his final days. They answered that wish, surrounding him with love and grace during his greatest time of need.
