Patrick Slowey

A child of the King. Born March 15, 1957 in Bethlehem, PA to Arthur and Judy Slowey (Gorski), Pat Slowey– “Slow” — was called home to Jesus on Wednesday January 7, 2026.

The oldest of five children, Slow attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he met the love of his life, Annie Wallace, at a frat party at the Delt house and shared 46+ years of crazy wedded bliss.

Slow gave his life to Jesus in his 20’s and lived out his faith on a daily basis. A sinner saved by the grace of the Savior, he was a faithful husband, dedicated father to five children, Dan, Kevin, Pat Jr., Bridget and Maggie — caring father-in-law to Leigh (Sulkowski) and Hilary (Titus) and a loving PapPap to two grandchildren Isla Slowey and Jonas Titus-Slowey.

Slow had a profound impact on the lives of everyone he met; family, friends, colleagues, employees, and acquaintances – he loved coaching youth sports and was always ready with words of encouragement and support, and possibly a leg drill!

Slow lived a truly wonderful life. He chose the narrow path and was blessed beyond measure. He honored the Lord with his blessings – sharing the Truth, and giving generously and with cheer to all those in need.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

And it’s safe to say, the Plain Old Weightlifters Gym in Heaven is now officially OPEN.

Slow’s Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at The Bible Chapel , 300 Gallery Dr., McMurray PA 15317

What a true and loving depiction of my/our big brother. Pat was a mentor and a Christian guidepost for me. He was always available for a talk or a walk. Knowing that he is in Heaven with his hero gives me peace! I will continue to wear my POWL (plain old weight lifters) shirts humbly and proudly. 🙏💪

As friends and former neighbors on Quigg, we will miss Pat and our occasional breakfast meetings with the Sloweys at Anthos. Always enjoyed hearing Pat’s perspectives on cars, baseball, family and life in general. Condolences to the Slowey family. 🙏

Words cannot express how privileged my family was to have Pat and Annie buy a house across the street from my family home on AMI. They were loved by my entire family. Pat and my father had a very special relationship grounded by their faith in God. During my father’s own cancer battle he was always there to help. Pat was loved by all the islanders he met annd formed relationships with . And it didn’t take long for him to meet them. Pat never met a stranger! Rest in peace Pat. We will see you one day.❤️

Nearly 20 years ago I met a woman who was working at the place my mother was then living. When she found out what church I went to, she asked me if I knew Pat because she knew he had gone there. When I said yes, she proceeded to joyously tell me endlessly glowing things about him. She had previously been his secretary. After hearing of his moving on, I came across the interview he did 2 years ago about "not wasting this diagnosis". I could see the vitality of his witness and impact for Jesus (and Jesus's impact on him) hadn't diminished. Although we didn't know him well enough, we rejoice with you that he did indeed faithfully finish the race well. May the grace of God comfort, strengthen and encourage you, Annie and family.
