Patrick Slowey

A child of the King. Born March 15, 1957 in Bethlehem, PA to Arthur and Judy Slowey (Gorski), Pat Slowey– “Slow” — was called home to Jesus on Wednesday January 7, 2026.

The oldest of five children, Slow attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he met the love of his life, Annie Wallace, at a frat party at the Delt house and shared 46+ years of crazy wedded bliss.

Slow gave his life to Jesus in his 20’s and lived out his faith on a daily basis. A sinner saved by the grace of the Savior, he was a faithful husband, dedicated father to five children, Dan, Kevin, Pat Jr., Bridget and Maggie — caring father-in-law to Leigh (Sulkowski) and Hilary (Titus) and a loving PapPap to two grandchildren Isla Slowey and Jonas Titus-Slowey.

Slow had a profound impact on the lives of everyone he met; family, friends, colleagues, employees, and acquaintances – he loved coaching youth sports and was always ready with words of encouragement and support, and possibly a leg drill!

Slow lived a truly wonderful life. He chose the narrow path and was blessed beyond measure. He honored the Lord with his blessings – sharing the Truth, and giving generously and with cheer to all those in need.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

And it’s safe to say, the Plain Old Weightlifters Gym in Heaven is now officially OPEN.

Slow’s Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at The Bible Chapel , 300 Gallery Dr., McMurray PA 15317

And he did such an excellent job coaching youth sports…shoutout to the USC 4th grade girls basketball Shamrock team. Mr. Slowey shared his passion and love for basketball which helped my love for the game grow too. A great coach, friendly to parents and supportive of each girl he was coaching. Thank you for your dedication to the game. Maggie and family - I’m so sorry for your loss.

Slow, you will be dearly missed. You walked the talk and your life was a living testimony to Christ. You made me want to be a better person by your example. Rest well my brother in Christ. “What the caterpillar calls the end of the world; Heaven calls a butterfly”

I can’t think of a more wonderful image than Pat Slowey running with all his might into the arms of Christ. We are so blessed at Penn Woods Classical Academy to have met him and see his wonderful personality and love for Annie and for his Savior in action. We send our deepest condolences to Annie, the family and the many, many loved ones who will miss him. Praise be to Jesus Christ who has defeated death! May we all cling to that knowledge and even in the depths of sadness find joy in it. May the angels and saints rejoice over his homecoming.

Slowey always made you feel welcome, no matter who you were. He had a heart of gold and I always enjoyed my conversations with him. I was a crossfitter at his gym and he said I know you are a crossfitter but I’ve seen those weights you lift, you deserve to represent a POWL shirt. I immediately bought one and have been wearing it ever since always thinking of him when I put in on. May you rest in peace.
