Paul J. Buckel Sr.

Paul Joseph Buckel Sr., of Castle Shannon, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children on July 7, 2026. Born on August 9, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the son of the late Frederick and Lorraine (Poeppert) Buckel. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Antoinette E. (Iannacchione) and their infant daughter, Laura Lynn.

Loving father to Paul (Laura) Buckel Jr., Mary Sue (Sean) O’Halloran, Leslie (John) Wrobel, Diane (Joseph) Gannon; Beloved grandfather to fourteen grandchildren: Paul III (Janelle), Jacob (Katie), Julianne (Michael), Emily, Joshua, Jonathan, Patrick, Caitlin, Stephen, John III, Ethan, Liam, Eva, Shane, James & five great-grandchildren: Arlo, Charlie, Birdie, Siena and Cooper. Brother to Mary (Bill) Wanker, Tom (Faye) Buckel, and Ray (Marnie) Buckel; He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Paul had a lifelong passion for classic cars and admired the craftsmanship and history behind them. He also loved airplanes and found great joy in building detailed model airplanes, a hobby that highlighted his appreciation for aviation. Paul was known as someone who could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His easygoing nature and friendly smile made him someone people enjoyed being around.

Family and friends will be received on July 13, 2026 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd, McMurray, PA, 15317. A mass of Christian burial will be held on July 14, 2026 at 10:30am at St. Louise de Marillac Church, 320 McMurray Road, McMurray, PA, 15317. Everyone please meet at the church. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
