Philip Blake Frye

Philip Blake Frye, 21, of Meadowlands, passed away tragically on May 23, 2026.

Born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2005, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Philip was the beloved son of April and Philip K. Frye III. He was the loving brother of Emma “Blemma” Frye, with whom he shared an especially close and treasured bond.

Philip was the cherished grandson of Betty Amon; dear nephew of Ray Amon; loving great-nephew of Aunt Annie and Aunt Teddi; and beloved cousin of Scott, Jenny, Laura, Chloe, and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Philip K. Frye Jr. and Ray Amon; his grandmother, Carol Frye; and his great-grandmothers, Gramie Hilda and Grandma Mae.

Philip was truly one of a kind an old soul whose wisdom and intellect far exceeded his years. A 2023 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School, he was voted “Most Likely to Be Famous,” a reflection of the remarkable presence he carried everywhere he went.

His intelligence and curiosity were extraordinary. Philip was an avid reader who spent countless hours immersed in books and was often on the library’s call list whenever a new title he wanted became available. He was a self-taught guitarist with an impressive collection of Rickenbacker guitars.

Creativity flowed through everything Philip did. He was a talented artist whose work was even sold at Comic Con events. He loved deep intellectual conversations with friends, conversations that could effortlessly transition into fluent French. He also had a strong interest in politics and took pride in educating himself on the issues that mattered to him.

Philip enjoyed riding bikes, expressing himself through art and music, and sharing his unique perspective with those around him. He also had a tremendous love for animals, especially his three guinea pigs, Rowan, Mickey, and Brownie, along with his beloved cat, Remi.

Above all, Philip deeply loved his family. His parents were incredibly proud of the thoughtful, gifted young man he had become, and the bond he shared with his sister Emma was truly special.

Philip’s spirit, brilliance, humor, and gentle soul will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
