Phyllis Marie Staaf, better known as Grammy, was peacefully home with her family when she went to be with the Lord on the evening of May 19, 2022. Born on August 19, 1936, in Ingram, PA, Grammy lived to an admirable and humble age of 85. She lived a simple life with an immense appreciation for nature, animals, and children. She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, but her purpose was found in raising her children, and their children, and their children. She is survived by her beloved daughters and son, Debra Croke, William Eger, and Laura Emrich (Walt). Also, those she dedicated her adult life to, her grandchildren, Heidi Gariti (Chris), Chelsey Ettiene (David), Ryan Cobb (Ashlie), Shane Emrich (Lauren), and Ashley Emrich. In addition, her great-grandchildren, who then made up the entirety of her world, Zackery, Madelyn, Jacob, Adeline, Athaliah, Aria, Judah, Zander, Asah, and Zizah. Let us also not forget her best friend, and loyal companion, Sugar, her dog. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Elizabeth Staaf, and her two younger brothers, William Lester Staaf and Clyde “Peanuts” Staaf, who she lovingly spoke of and adored. Grammy’s roots were deep in family – her entire life. They will be celebrating and honoring her life at a private service.
