Phyllis and I were best friends for the last 50 years of her life after spending 12 years as classmates early in life. Without question, I have never known a finer human being. I am sending my condolences to all who knew and loved her and especially her wonderful husband Jim.

I am so sorry at the loss of Phyllis. My prayers and thoughts go out to Jim, her family, and all those who had the wonderful time with her. Phyllis was a sweet soul who touched the lives of everyone she knew. I met her at Cal U. in 1961 and she immediately became my friend. We had many wonderful memories even if it was only for 2 years. In the nineties, she called all the Witherspoon's in the phone book until she talked to my nephew and he told her how to call me.She was a very determined person and when she had an idea she did not give up until she found the answer. I will greatly miss her and her sweet personality.

Bill and I send our condolences to Phyllis' family. We met in June of 1961. I will always remember the fun times we had. She was thoughtful, caring, and loved her family. Even though we were not close the last few years, I treasure our time together at Cal U.

My most sincere condolences to Jim and family. I had the pleasure of working with Phyllis when she did substitute teaching at Holy Trinity School. She was such a lovely person and I enjoyed spending time with her. She was very special.
