Randy Lee Hindman, aged 68, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning of
Thursday, June 11th, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on
April 11th, 1958, in Washington County, PA, to parents Stanley Hindman Sr. and Mildred
Bakori.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Joy Hindman, as well as his children,
Steve (Kristy), Casey (Taylor), Justin, Samantha (Noah); his grandchildren, Brody, Ryder, Willa
and extended family members, and dear friends (and, of course, his incredibly old family dog,
Shylo).
He was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Hindman Jr., who now accompanies him in
heaven.
Randy was a fighter to his last breath; his journey with his illness involved two craniotomies,
several dozen radiation sessions, and chemotherapy. Yet, cancer was such a small part of his
story:
For the bulk of his life, he worked as an incredibly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator, eventually
retiring in 2023. Still, it was as though he never really stopped, as he was always advising his
sons, Casey and Justin, with their construction company, Hindman Excavating.
When he wasn’t working, Randy (AKA “Pops”) was constantly on the move. Whether it was
tinkering in his garage, creating some new, beautiful addition to his home, or decorating the roof
for Christmas (often by precariously placing a ladder in the bed of a pickup truck for extra
reach), he kept busy. His impatience lives on through his daughter, Samantha, who can also
never seem to sit still.
Friends and family will gather on Thursday, June 18th, 2026, both from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, to
celebrate Randy’s wonderful life. The service will be held at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral
Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
In lieu of flowers, thoughtful cards and memorial contributions can be made to his family.
