Renee A. Garis

Renee Autumn Garis, 72 of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, after a brief and difficult illness. Renee was born in Brownsville, PA on September 28, 1951 to Louise and the late Lee Burkey. She was a graduate of Brownsville Area High School and California University.

Renee was a devoted volunteer for ten years to Animal Friends. There she helped many animals in need of attention and made many dear friends who shared her same passion and love for animals. She had a love for the holidays, especially Christmas. Renee and her husband Tom loved to decorate every room of their home and fill it with Christmas cheer.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Tom Garis, and their beloved dogs Roxie and Gracie; her mother Louise Burkey; her brother Stacy Burkey of Hudson, Florida; her cousin Sheree Misovich; and her in-laws Dorothy (the late Charles) Garis, and their sons Doug and Chuck Garis, Jr. Renee also leaves behind her dear friends, who were with her until the end, Leanne Wood, Amy Hoyt and Charlene Kaier. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
