Richard Kenneth Cross, 77, passed away on July 3, 2022 at his home under hospice care surrounded by the love of his wife and daughters.  Rick is survived by his dedicated and faithful wife, Rosemary, and his loving sister, Donna (Jerry) Novelli.  He was a committed and steadfast father to his two daughters, Kelly and Heather, and sons-in-law, Mark McInnis and Joe Panzica.  He adored his six grandchildren who feel that he was the silliest human in their lives (Madeline, Michael, Clara, Charlie, Gracie and Mary).  He served his country as a proud veteran of the United States Army as a sky soldier in the airborne infantry, awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in combat.  He entertained many friends and family members through the decades with his good humor and easy-going nature.  He worked hard in real estate for many years, but his favorite house was on 93rd Street in Stone Harbor, NJ where he stationed on the front porch rocker, hosted Crash & Burn parties (up to 40th annual), watched his grass and garden grow, launched fishing trips and told the tales.

Family and friends are welcome to a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Benedict the Abbot, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 15317, EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH.  A service at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors will be held immediately to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Foundation, support.woundedwarriorproject.org.

It seems like every moment was his best, his happiest, his most extraordinary. That's how he lived. That's what I will miss most about my dear Uncle Rick. I pray for God's Peace to comfort all of us who have been left behind.
