Richard P. Macurak passed at age 90 on Tuesday, July 27th surrounded by his beloved family. Dick was born in Pittsburgh, the third child of John and Mary Macurak’s four children. He graduated from South Hills High School and then served in the Korean War in the US Army.

Family members who predeceased him: Beloved husband of Maryann (Niespodzianski), Mary Louise (Gross), also predeceased by Gregory (son) and James (grandson).

Dick is survived by his son Richard (Kathleen), daughter Linda (Joseph) Hermann, ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, his brother Joseph and sister Dorothy (Thomas).

A devoted husband and father, he spent many years taking the family on vacations and supporting his children in all their interests and pursuits. He was a “handyman” and spent many hours on home improvement projects to make better homes for his family. Dick was an avid sports fan, closely following the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins, always preferring to listen to the games on the radio. Dick started D-M Products, Inc., a successful commercial contact glazing company in 1974 in Bethel Park, PA and continued to work in the office every day until this July. He was extremely proud of the work he accomplished and the relationships he developed throughout the many years.

He will be remembered by his faith, integrity humility, love for his family and personal responsibility that he lived as an example for his children and all who knew and loved him.

Service will be private. Internment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Donations may be made to Dick’s memory to causes he supported: Guillan-Barre Syndrome c/o GBS/CIDP Foundation International, 375 Elm Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428 or Society of the Little Flower, 1313 N.
