Richard (Rick) A. Moran, age 78, of Robinson Township formerly of Elliott passed away on April 1, 2022. Beloved husband of Lynn for 54 years.  Born April 13, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he is the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Moran.  Father of Sandra Gardner (Bill), Katie Healey (Kevin) and Kelly Rizor (Ryan).  Brother of Thomas Moran (Frances), Carol Palmer (the late Leo) and Joan Patrus (Al).  Grandchildren, Jack and Ricky Gardner, Ireland and Kennedy Healey, and Chase and Charlie Rizor.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Rick was a quiet, kind, gentle man of a few words who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.  A family man who cared for his wife, daughters, son-in laws, and most importantly, his grandchildren.  Quick to say yes when asked to attend one of their activities, you could always count on him to be there supporting their interests.

Rick was proud of his country, serving six years in the Air Force Reserves.  He was a dedicated employee of Duquesne Light for 40 years and enjoyed retirement the last 18 years.

Next to his family, Rick enjoyed gardening.  For him, it was a year-round endeavor.  He could be found pouring through seed catalogs growing seedlings in the basement and harvesting from the garden.  If he wasn’t in the garden, Rick liked to fish, occasionally play golf and relax “Up Camp”.  His ultimate perfect day was sitting at the beach, beer in hand, watching the surf sunup to sundown.  It was during these times when you would hear stories of amazing adventures and mischief during his life that always ended with a great laugh.

Rick will be remembered for many different moments in his life.  He was a great example of someone who knew what he enjoyed and didn’t worry about what he didn’t.  Ricks ultimate accomplishment was that he was at peace and thankful he lived a great life.

Rick was a huge part of my formative years. He was part of the amazing group of people that raised all the kids on our street. I will miss him greatly.

Uncle Rick was fun, funny and a great story teller. His great sense of humor was complemented by his unique laugh. He was always a positive force in my life!

Rick was a great brother in-law, he always had a smile on his face and would laugh at many jokes or stories. I always told him our other brother in-law had to be his best friend as Dave took the target off Rick's back from the wrath of my mother. I didn't see him often but, when I did it was always very enjoyable. Rest in peace Rick Moran you will be missed. Chuck and Sally
