Richard “Rick” T. Norton, 62, of Peters Township, passed away. Born on September 4, 1963, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rick was the beloved husband of the late Tammy L. Norton, with whom he shared a lifelong love story, and a devoted father whose greatest pride was his children.

Rick was the son of Nancy Schneider and John Norton, and a loving brother to William and the late Christopher Norton. He was a proud and deeply loving father to Dakota and Sydney Norton.

Rick adored the game of golf and was truly a natural at it, creating lasting memories on courses such as Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Harbour Town, and even held the club championship title at Lindenwood for multiple years.. For more than 25 years, he cherished the annual family trips to Hilton Head Island, where laughter, togetherness, and unforgettable moments were made with his family.

After graduating from Peters Township High School, Rick began his career as a manager at Bankers Life and Casualty, later becoming an independent insurance investment director. With his old soul and generous heart, Rick found purpose in helping others especially caring for and advocating for elders.

Rick met his wife Tammy as neighbors while growing up, and despite life moving him around due to his father’s service, Rick always found his way back to her. After marrying, they welcomed their son Dakota, and three years later, their daughter Sydney.

As a father, Rick was present, proud, and endlessly supportive. He coached Dakota in basketball and stood by him through every sport he played, sharing a bond that was both fatherly and deeply rooted in friendship. He coached Sydney in softball and was always her biggest cheerleader as well. Rick loved watching sports, spending time with friends, and building a life in Peters Township, where he created beautiful memories with his family and community.

Rick was a man of faith and often attended South Hills Bible Chapel, faithfully bringing his brother Chris with him every Sunday after Chris suffered his own health issues. He had a huge heart, lived life to its fullest, and trusted deeply in the Lord.

After the loss of his wife Tammy in 2024, Rick continued to show up for his children with unwavering love and strength, even while facing his own health challenges. His dedication as a father never wavered.

Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in thinking of him every time they see a beautiful sunset, a reminder of his enduring presence, love, and God’s faithfulness.

A private memorial service will be held at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317 on Friday, February 6th, 2026. In lieu of other gestures, the family welcomes floral arrangements in Rick’s memory. All arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
