With overwhelming love and heartbreaking sorrow, we share the passing of our brave and beautiful 7-year-old daughter, Rilyn Nicole Hughes. After courageously fighting Neuroblastoma for five and a half years, Rilyn left this world surrounded by those she loved. Her life was far too short, but she filled every day with kindness, joy, and a light that touched everyone around her.

Rilyn is cherished and forever loved by her parents, Cliff and Jamie, and her devoted sister, Avery. She is also survived by a loving circle of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who are mourning her loss.

Friends, teachers, hospital staff, and all who had the privilege of knowing Rilyn remember her as a joyful, innocent, full-of-hope, and loving light. Her love for Lilo & Stitch, Taylor Swift, stuffed animals, and fluffy dogs remains unparalleled. We will always remember her laughter, kindness, and the little moments that made every day more beautiful.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care Family (5405 Steubenville Pike, Pittsburgh, PA 15136). Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Rilyn are welcome to attend. Service will be private.

Donations in the form of a check may be sent to the funeral home in Rilyn’s name and will be forwarded directly to the family. All donations given in Rilyn’s name will be passed along in the form of gift cards to families undergoing cancer treatment at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, as well as the oncology childlife department.

No one can understand what you have been through. You have given so much to keep the lives of your children joyful. May that joy be returned to you and your children as you cherish your life with one and your memories of the sweet soul who has flown.

Prayers for all of you. I’ve been following Rilyn’s story and received updates from my Sister, Judy Hughes. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful little girl or her immediate family but I do know Cliff and Debbie. From the stories I heard Rilyn had the best of the best for a Mom, Dad and Sister. I know she was loved by her extended family as well and that you all loved her dearly. Thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you all. Diane Smith
