Ronald B. Cushey

Ronald B. Cushey, 65, of Newport Coast, CA, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022.

He was born on January 13, 1957 in McMurray to Barbara and Samuel Cushey.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria, and two beautiful daughters, Kayla and Kendall of Newport Coast; his father, Sam of McMurray; and older brother, Ken of Venetia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara in 2020.

Ron attended all twelve years in the Peters Township School District before going to West Virginia University and graduating with a degree in accounting. He then worked for a couple of the large national accounting firms, and moved to the Los Angeles area in 1983.  He worked hard and advanced to the position of Chief Financial Officer for several small and mid-sized firms before retiring in 2021.

He was a very good athlete and loved sports, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football in high school.  After graduating college and especially after moving to California, his intrests also included deck hockey, softball, cycling, shooting, barefoot water skiing and going to the gym.

Ron was a loving son, brother, husband and father, and good friend to many.  He will be missed by all who were close to him.

After being cremated, half of his ashes will be spread in the harbor of Marina Del Rey, where he enjoyed the water and beach as his first place of residence in California.  Then at a later date, the other half of his ashes will be buried in the Center Presbyterian Church cemetery in a private graveside ceremony.
