Ronald (Bud) David Bentz 12/5/1985-12/8/2025

With a great sadness in our hearts, Ronald (Bud) David Bentz, aged 40, has passed away unexpectedly on December 8th, 2025.

Bud was born on December 5th, 1985, to the late Ronald P. Bentz and Carol Bentz (nee Ream). He was the eldest of five children, growing up in Monaca, PA.

Bud graduated from Center High School in 2005, and shortly after, he made the decision to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. His commitment to service was unwavering, and he deployed when his unit was activated in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Bud was honorably discharged in June of 2013, having proudly served his country with courage and dedication. As a veteran, he continued his service to fellow veterans as an active member of the VFW Post 1821, where he held the esteemed positions of Commander and Vice Jr. Commander. His leadership and passion for supporting his fellow servicemen and women were evident in all that he did.

In 2008, Bud began working at Ralich Truck Center, a role he would hold with pride until the company transitioned to Hill International Trucks in 2021. Over the years, he embraced many responsibilities, starting as a technician and eventually rising to the position of Shop Foreman. His hands-on approach, vast knowledge, and dedication to the job earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. Most recently, Bud worked as a Parts Professional, continuing to serve the company with the same tireless work ethic he demonstrated throughout his career.

Outside of work, Bud was a passionate outdoorsman who found peace and joy in nature. Whether he was camping under the stars, fishing along a quiet stream, or hunting in the woods, he reveled in the beauty and serenity that the outdoors provided. He was also known for his skill at playing corn hole, where he competed with the same enthusiasm and competitive spirit that he brought to every part of his life. Bud had a fondness for throwing horseshoes, and he always looked forward to swimming and canoeing in the creek, especially on warm summer days. But above all, Bud cherished the time spent with his family, and he loved nothing more than bringing everyone together. He hosted countless gatherings at his home and at St. Joe’s Boat Club, creating memories that will be treasured forever by those who were fortunate enough to attend.

At the heart of everything Bud did was his deep, unconditional love for his two children, Alivia and Henry. He was a devoted father, and the bond he shared with them was one of pure, unspoken understanding. His love for them was immeasurable, and it was clear to all who knew him that his children were the center of his world.

Bud is survived by his grandmother, Alice Bentz, mother, Carol Bentz, siblings Mikey Bentz, Ramen Bentz (Brittni Smith), Catie Bentz (Charles J. May) and Alecia Bentz (Randee Hartman), children Alivia Bentz (mother Amanda Bentz and her son Diego Sanchez) and Henry Bentz (mother Ashley Schwartz), girlfriend Melissa Magby, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceding him in death are paternal grandfather Henry Bentz, and maternal grandparents, Shirley Ann and Daniel T. Ream, maternal step-grandmother Jamie Ream father, Ronald P. Bentz, uncles Frank Bentz and Dwayne Bentz, and aunts Laraine Patterson and June Moore.

A military service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017.  If you wish to process to the cemetery, please meet at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136, at 12:00 pm. Following that, there will be a celebration of life at the Center Twp VFW Post 1821. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or to the VFW Post 1821.
