Rose M. Laick

Rose M. Laick of Streetsboro, Ohio, a devoted matriarch, beloved grandmother, and a woman who truly knew how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026 at the age of 79. ​Rose was born on June 21, 1946 in Brownsville, PA to Myron and Josephine Hetrick. Throughout her life, she brought warmth, laughter, and a bit of excitement to everyone who knew her.

If you asked Rose what her greatest jackpot in life was, she would have told you it was her family. She was the ultimate cheerleader for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, rarely missing a milestone, a game, or a chance to spoil them. Some of her happiest moments were spent traveling with her family; she cherished every trip and vacation they took together, finding immense joy in exploring new places and making lifelong memories with the people she loved most. Whether she was hosting family gatherings, sharing wisdom, or simply sitting back to watch the chaos of a house full of kids, her family was her absolute pride. When she wasn’t spending time with her loved ones, Rose could often be found chasing the thrill of the win. She had a passion for gambling, whether she was visiting her favorite casino slots, playing a lively game of cards with friends, or scratching off a lottery ticket with a smile. She approached the game—and life itself—with a sense of fun, hope, and an infectious energy.

Rose is survived by her beloved children, Deena, Doreen (John), and Matthew; her cherished grandchildren Mark, Brad, John (Emily), Jessica (Joe), and Matthew (Grace); her adored great-grandchildren, Miley, Sofia, Leo, Elana, John, Ethan, and Valentina; and a large circle of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Matthew Laick Sr.

​A celebration of Rose’s life will be held on August 15 with times and location to follow.

​In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a moment to hug your loved ones, play a game of cards in her memory, scratch a lottery ticket, or plant a rose in her honor.
