Rosemarie (Marks) Schons, of Coraopolis, PA, died peacefully at home on July 5, 2024 after an extended illness.

Born on Neville Island, PA on October 24, 1933. The daughter of the late Michael and Edna (Miskinis) Marks. Graduated from Robinson High School, Class of 1951. She then graduated from Ohio Valley School of Nursing. She worked as an OB/GYN nurse at Ohio Valley Hospital.

She was the wife of Frank J. Schons for 69 years. Surviving includes her husband, Frank Schons, sons, James (Janet) and Frankie Schons, daughters, Karen (Tom) Radziminski, and Michele (David) Shober, grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, and Brent Schons, Andrea and Daniel Radziminski, Kaitlyn Linnehan, Lauren Fill and Patrick Shober, and Cory, Haley and Jordan Schons, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Brother Richard (Francis) Marks and sister, Connie Marks.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Michael, and sister, Jeanie.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Archangel Gabriel Parish (Holy Trinity Church), 5718 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association.

Rose was my sister-in-law. We knew each other a long time. I have wonderful memories of Rose. She was my mentor. As a young married woman, she took me under her wings and taught me so much about keeping a home. She will be missed. May she rest in peace. She’s at her final resting place with Jesus.
