Following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister & aunt, Rosemary (Rose) Lombardi Wagner of Strabane, PA, passed away on the evening of Monday, December 13, 2021 at the age of 72 with family by her side.

Rosemary was born on January 26, 1949, the daughter of the late Louis Lombardi & Antonetta Lombardi Senay. Rosemary married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Robert P. Wagner, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2017.

After completing high school at Canon McMillan, Rosie attended Pittsburgh Beauty Academy but she found more joy in serving, cooking and entertaining her customers at The Hofbrau, AFW Club, and other establishments in the Canonsburg area.

Rose was a mother of 5 and loved spending time with her family. She was a proud Italian American who enjoyed cooking authentic Italian food. Some of her greatest moments were when pasta sauce turned out just right.

She was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed watching games with her late husband. She loved singing and dancing, and spent her later years with family, cheerfully watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.

She will be remembered as being the strong willed, outspoken and opinionated matriarch of the family – she would always tell it like it was, but still managed to be soft hearted with those she loved.

Rosemary will be lovingly remembered by her surviving five children, Annette Matusky, of Washington, PA, Maria (Gregory) Binotto, of Strabane, PA, Bobbi (Timothy) DiClaudio of Bridgeville, PA, Carla Mankey (Jay) of Strabane, PA and Robert Jr. (Kelly) Wagner, of Mars, PA; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony (Elizabeth) Lombardi of Canonsburg, PA & sister, Joyce (Richard) Lombardi Stevenson as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she is preceded in death by her brother, Louis Lombardi, of Washington, PA.

A celebration of Rosemary’s life will be held in the future and will be announced once arrangements are complete.
