Ruth Ann Pihony

Ruth Ann Pihony, age 89, of Bridgeville, PA, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. Born on September 10, 1936, in Pomfret, NY, she was the daughter of the late “Bessie” Elizabeth and William “Bill” Fuessler.

Ruth Ann was the beloved wife of the late Theodore J. Pihony, and the loving mother of Ethel Marks. She was preceded in death by her son, Theodore J. Pihony II; her grandson, John E. “Johnny” Marks IV; her sister, Elizabeth Johnson; and her son-in-law, John Marks III.

In addition to her daughter, Ruth Ann is survived by two grandchildren, Kristin Marks and Callie (Hans) Sandholm, as well as two great-grandchildren, Maximilian and Leopold Sandholm.

Ruth Ann was a woman of many passions. She loved the simple joys of life, including tending to her garden, enjoying a good book, and spending quality time with family and friends. She also loved playing poker and bingo, always enjoying fun that came with the games. One of her greatest joys was her cottage in Van Buren Point, NY, where she found peace and comfort in the quiet beauty of the lake.

Ruth Ann’s gentle nature, her loving heart, and her enduring strength will be missed by all who knew her. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

All services are private and she will be interred at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
