Ruth Feldstein Stage, age 78 of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 of complications from Covid-19. She was born in Elizabeth, PA March 28, 1942 and is the daughter of the late Norman and Gladys Feldstein.

Loving mother of Deborah and Zoje Stage and dear sister of Jay (Judi) Feldstein.

Ruth was a free spirit who loved to stay up late into the night reading a thick tome of historical fiction. Every summer she liked to go to a Renaissance Festival with her daughters, all of them in costume. Ruth was a needlepoint master, and enjoyed cooking, playing bridge and board games, and listening to classical music. A bit of an adventurer, she hiked and backpacked in West Virginia, the Smoky Mountains, and the Grand Canyon. Ruth would’ve loved to have a small dragon as a pet, but she was just as happy being a Cat Lady.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (www.macular.org/how-donate) or Pittsburgh C.A.T. (www.petfinder.com/member/us/pa/pittsburgh/pittsburgh-cat-pa967/).

Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA. Please view and sign the family’s online guestbook at www.PittsburghCremation.com.

Deb and Zoje, So sorry Ruth to hear this news. Liz and the boys and I all share in some small way in your loss. She (along with you) is one one of the first people I played D&D with! May her memory be a blessing.

In that outfit she must have been the best dressed at the Renaissance Faire! Her creative and adventurous spirit lives on in her daughters.

Dear Deborah, Zoje and Jay and the entire family, our deepest condolences on the passing of your terrific mother, sister and our cousin. She definitely was a true free spirit who danced to her own drummer and kept the rhythm very well. I will always remember the fun times we had when I was growing up. Much love, Betsy and Lou

We will miss Ms. Stage at Riverview. She was always such a pleasant, bubbly personality. It was fun talking to her about her old Dungeons and Dragons games and about books, cats and much more. She will be missed.
