Ryan Derx Schlafman

Ryan Derx Schlafman, age 20 of McMurray, PA passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Born on November 1, 2000, he was the dear son of Kurt and Stephany Schlafman. Loving partner to Tim Grebeck. Cherished brother to Rachel Schlafman. Loving grandson to Harold and Susan Schlafman, Lois and James Griffith and step grandson to Kristen Hague. Ryan will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ryan enjoyed gaming, art and music. He was in school at Full Sail University for video game art design. Ryan will be dearly missed by many.

Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 12 PM until the time of service at 4 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Trevor Project, www.thetrevorproject.org.

I trust that your beautiful soul is finally at peace. Words cannot express my extreme saddness as I am writing this tribute. You will always be truly missed, but I am comforted by knowing that you are surrounded by so many who have gone before you. I know Bum Bum was there waiting for you - I know Jennifer has embraced you, and Steve is giving you the comfort you need. You will always be loved and missed, but I also will try to find comfort knowing you are in a better world. I love you - we all love you.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I was one of the Curbside Leads at Giant Eagle and Ryan was truly a blessing to work with. He was so sweet and kind and an excellent worker. He never failed to make us laugh when work got stressful. Words cannot express how much the Curbside Team will miss him. Again I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Ryan will truly be missed.

I went to elementary school with Ryan, he was in my 2nd & 3rd grade class & often sat at the same lunch table in 7th grade. Always a very kind hearted person who very much cared about others. Sending lots of love & prayers to his family, he will be missed
