Samuel Thomas Viviano III passed away peacefully at his home in McDonald, Pennsylvania. Born to Samuel Thomas II and Margaret (Kayton) Viviano, in Brigham City, Utah, April 1, 1944, he was 80 years old.
Sam and his wife of 46 years, Linda (Kylor) Viviano, split their time between McDonald, Pennsylvania and Wellington, Florida.
Sam is survived by his wife Linda, sister Sara Viviano Rolley, of Carlisle, Massachusetts, and two nieces and three nephews.

Sam was a graduate of Michigan State University, majoring in food production and management. This degree served him as he worked in management at the family’s business, Vimco Macaroni Company, which was founded by his grandfather. Following the
sale of Vimco to Borden’s Corporation, Sam was employed with that company, and did freelance consulting in the industry.
Although Sam enjoyed an early retirement, he continued to manage family-owned commercial properties in Florida for about twenty-five years. He purchased the McDonald, PA farm property from his father and turned it into a horse-boarding stable and grew and harvested hay and was a hay boss consultant for others. In addition, Sam had many and varied hobbies over his lifetime. Sam was a licensed pilot since the age of 14 and continued flying until recently. Sam was also a vintage race car
driver, traveling to many racetracks across the country, driving his Car No. 9, a white and blue Camaro. Lately, he discovered the sport of pickleball, which he enjoyed immensely, and was a mentor to new players.
In his younger years, Sam was involved in boating and waterskiing, including barefooting and slalom skiing. He and Linda enjoyed many pleasant weekends on their boat the “Antique” Nautique. In more recent years Sam taught himself how to operate a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, which enabled him to create machinery parts. He also was a 3-D machine
operator, his latest model a 5-head 3-D machine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made online to the Heart of Phoenix Equine Rescue, Inc.

It was Sam’s wishes that there not be a memorial service, but, instead, his friends gather for a celebration of his life, which will be held in the near future.
