Stephen “Petch” Petrichevich, age 68, of Baldwin Township, PA, died suddenly on July 10, 2026.
Born on December 8, 1957, in Pittsburgh, PA, Steve was the beloved son of the late Joseph J. and Helen R. Petrichevich. He was a graduate of Carrick High School and the University of Pittsburgh.
Steve had a lifelong passion for sports, whether he was playing, watching, or cheering from the sidelines. He loved to run and was an avid golfer, but some of his most treasured moments were those spent supporting his children. He took great pride in coaching his son and rarely missed an opportunity to attend the games and activities of both his son and daughter. He would often be heard from the sidelines “whistling in” words of encouragement or coaching advice. Being there for them was simply what Steve did, and his steady presence and support meant more than words could express.
Steve will be remembered as a devoted father, loving brother, and loyal friend. His sudden passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, but the memories of the time shared with him will remain forever.
He is survived by his loving children, Eric Petrichevich and Jaclyn (Ciaran Minch) Petrichevich; his sister, Margie (Gary) Schwartz; and his brother, James (Francine) Petrichevich. In addition to immediate family, Steve is survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
