Susan Kay Garwig Of Carnegie, PA peacefully passed away on May 19, 2021 at the age of 62.  Born in Akron, OH on August 16, 1958.  Susan was the middle child of Raymond and Grace Garwig’s three children, growing up mostly in Potomac, MD graduating from Thomas S. Wotton High School.

Susan always had a passion for family, friends, and holidays.  Christmas was always a favorite of hers to thrill family and especially her nephews with many fun gifts and any toy they desired.  There were a few Christmases she came close to showing up Santa Claus!  Summer was also time to enjoy her young nephews with squirt guns, beach balls, and swimming of course.  In her heyday, she was a corporate trainer for Friday’s Restaurants based out of Washington, DC.  She thoroughly enjoyed this job and traveled extensively which delighted her.  She tried to visit her special place of Cape May, NJ whenever she could go.  This was a treasured, relaxing place with great memories of friends.

She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her siblings:  Janice (Steve) Lang of Philadelphia, PA and Daniel (Patty) Garwig of Pittsburgh, PA; her beloved nephews:  Daniel (Emily) Lang of Roanoke, VA, Andrew (Sarah) Lang of Boise, ID, Alex and Casey Garwig, and her great nephews:  Benjamin and Robert (Bobby) Lang.

The family wants to give a special thank you to the staff at Manorcare, Greentree and the Heartland Hospice staff for the love and care they gave Susan this last year during the COVID lockdown.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care in McMurray, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America – Western PA Chapter; PO Box 1196, 1140 Thorn Run Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108
