Sylvia Rogers Graham, age 87, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026. Born April 18, 1938 in Athens, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of the late James and Alice (née Johnson) Rogers.

Sylvia, a dynamic and fiercely independent woman, passed away leaving a legacy of strength, service, and laughter. Raised in Nashville, a member of First Presbyterian Church, Sylvia earned a Masters degree at Vanderbilt University and served there as a librarian until her retirement. Sylvia competed locally and nationally as a member of the Vanderbilt Bridge Club, earning many masterpoints. A Delta Gamma, the “Do Good Sisterhood”, Sylvia contributed to their national philanthropy and to local Nashville charities. Sylvia thrived in social gatherings as both a guest and a host.

She was a loving mother to Sandra Lynne Berggren, Richard Brian Graham, and David Jeffrey Graham; a cherished grandmother to four; and a beloved aunt to four nephews.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her siblings, Wallace Rogers, Janis Spivey, and Rodney Rogers. She will be most remembered for her sharp wit and the joy her sense of humor brought to her family and friends.

I am sorry to learn of Sylvia's passing. We worked at Owen together and then were in the same book club for years. A delightful, very smart lady who was missed after she left Nashville. Sincere sympathy.
