Theresa Pierce, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Pierce, who preceded her in death.

She was the daughter of Frank and Marianna Passeri (both deceased), and sister of Julio Passeri and Josephine Gornatti (both deceased).

A devoted Catholic and former high school teacher, Theresa lived a life guided by faith, kindness, and a love of learning. An avid reader and exceptional cook, she was known for showing her thoughtfulness through homemade treats and warm meals, often delivered with a perfectly timed sarcastic remark that reflected her sharp wit and loving heart.

Theresa is survived by her daughters, Michelle Griffin and Stacey Casey, and her beloved grandchildren, Ainsley Casey, Hayden Casey, Patrick Griffin, and William Griffin. She will be remembered for her compassion, dedication to others, and the joy and laughter she brought to those around her.

A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2026, at 4:30 PM in the St. Clair Room at Friendship Village, 1290 Boyce Road, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Village Team Member Appreciation Fund.

A Funeral Mass and burial will be held in Portland, Connecticut, at a later date.

Michelle & Stacey, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was an awesome person. She was my teacher in high school for biology and anatomy/physiology. Not only was your mom an excellent teacher and incredibly intelligent, but her sense of humor was engaging and fun. I will always remember her for those reasons and the warmth she brought to her classroom. I hope your happiest memories of her bring you comfort and peace as you grieve now and beyond. 🕯️

Mrs. Pierce, along with her husband, was such an important part of the Xavier community. She and Mr. Pierce are remembered by countless alumni for cooking their sauce to feed the students on retreat. Condolences to her family.

Your Mom and I, along with Fr John from St Mary's in Portland had many Wed night dinners with our friends. I will always hold these memories close. We had many laughs.
