Thomas G. Sertik, born on August 19, 1940, passed away on May 25, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Sertik (Greenlee), and their two sons, Darren and Chad Sertik.

Tom graduated from Carrick High School, later attended Thiel College and dedicated his early career to education as a teacher and a high school football coach. He later became a real estate agent, working alongside his wife for over 25 years.

An avid sportsman, Tom was a member of the Library Sportsman Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing and skiing. He was also a licensed pilot, embracing the skies with the same enthusiasm he had for the mountains and the wilderness.

Tom was an active and esteemed member of the McMurray Rotary Club for over 25 years, where he served as President and was honored twice as a Paul Harris Fellow. His commitment to community service extended to his membership in several Masonic organizations, including the Scottish Rite Masons, York Rite Masons, Syria Shriners, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

Tom resided at the Masonic Village and was formerly of Peters Township. He was known for his creativity, mentorship, and wisdom, always eager to share his insights with others. A devout believer, Tom was an avid reader and confidently prayed, drawing strength and inspiration from his faith.

In recent years, Tom faced significant health challenges with courage and resilience, undergoing dialysis three times a week. Despite these hardships, he remained a source of strength and inspiration to those around him.

A Celebration of Remembrance and a Masonic Funeral Service conducted by Doric Lodge 630 will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11:00 am at  Forest Lawn Gardens, 3739 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.

Charitable contributions can be made in Tom’s honor to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. His legacy of service, friendship, and mentorship will be remembered by all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Tom. Your spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
