Thomas P. Stathis, age 89, of Shaler, passed away on June 30, 2024.

Born on September 11, 1934, he is son of the late Peter and Anna (Katsaros) Stathis.

Beloved husband of the late Nancy Mann Stathis. Loving father of Dorian Stathis, Julie Painter and Carrie Mallett. Grandfather of Michael, Madison and Nichole. Great- grandfather of Trevor and Natalia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Constantine “Gus” Stathis, and son-in-law, Dave Painter.

With broken hearts we would like to tell you about our dad. He attended school at Connelley Technical, Pittsburgh Art Institute and  followed by Pittsburgh Beauty Academy.  He was the first male graduate.  This is where he met our mom.  He went on to opening a hair salon called Tomi-Jon’s. When the building became available next to his salon he open Lorenzo’s Pizza. Both businesses were well known and successful. His family was always a part of his businesses. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working.  He could carve almost anything.  In the earlier years he and our mom enjoyed going to Mt. Washington to listen to jazz. Later in life you could find him in Lawrenceville playing the jukebox, sipping his scotch and people watching. We were lucky to have him as a dad.  He lived to make people laugh. He was always loving, fun, and would do anything for us from the beginning to the end.

To honor him we would like to celebrate his life at Take a Break, 3825 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15201, on July 26th, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. where everyone knows his name.
