Vera Wiles Hancher

Vera Wiles Hancher, age 90 of McMurray PA, passed away peacefully on 12/18/2025. She was born on November 7th 1935 in Tunnelton WV.

Vera dedicated her life to education, serving as an Elementary Teacher with the Peters Township School District.

Her passion for shaping young minds left a lasting impression on the community and lives of many. Outside of her career Vera found much joy from and square-dancing and traveling.

Vera is survived by her son Dwight Wiles (Carrie), her grandson Shane Wiles (Alexis), and her granddaughter Emily Wiles, step son Rodney Hancher (Dianne), step grandchildren Lauren (Ian), Dana Michael (Mary Beth)

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford G. & Elsie M.  Wolfe, her son George A. Wiles (Amy), her first husband Herbert A. Wiles and her Second Husband Kilbourne O. Hancher, step son Kilbourne P. Hancher (Jamie); step grandchildren Nicole, Jessica, Deja, and Shannon, step daughter Cheryl Ward; step grandchild Heather, step son Leonard Hancher (Shelane); grandchild Ryan.

Vera’s Legacy of Kindness, Dedication and love will forever be remembered by those who knew her.  She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those who lives she touched.

Family and friends are welcome on December 27, 2025 from 11am until time of service at 2pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317. Private burial will take place at Forest Lawn Gardens.
