Violet A. Fredericks, age 89, of North Strabane Township was called to her Eternal Rest on February 1, 2020 in Premier Washington Health Center.

She was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Caterina Carelli of McDonald. She was the 1948 graduate of North Fayette High School and Business Training College of Pittsburgh.  She was employed as an Executive Secretery at Consolidation Coal Co. (Consol) for 30 years. She was also a member of St. Benedict the Abbot Church in McMurray and member of Women of St. Benedicts. She loved volunteering for various organizations, the most recent was Canonsburg Hospital and Meals on Wheels (Peters).

On May 20, 1950, she married Roy G. Fredericks and they were married for 65 years when he passed away on February 12, 2015.  They loved winters in Daytona Beach, cruises and Myrtle Beach.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving son Dennis and wife Judi of Amity, PA; Grandson, Brian (Dawn) of Amity, Grandson Jason (Julie) of Pittsburgh; great grandchildren who lit up her life, Everly Dawn and Greyson Miles of Amity, PA; sister Rosalie of Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are her siblings Premo and Marcy Carelli, Helen Zirwas, Irene Gasvoda and Lillian Jourdan.

All services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children in her memory.
