Walter N. “Walt” Steiner, 69, of Beechview passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 9, 2023, with family by his side. He was born in Braddock, PA on December 21, 1953, the son of the late Walter L.M. Steiner and Zeta Mae (Cale) Steiner.

Beloved husband of Betty (Mangiapane) Steiner. Brother of Yvonne (Ken) Chasko of McKeesport, PA, Randy (Nancy) Eckman of Akron,OH, Sharon VanKirk of Baltimore, MD, and the late John Natishin of Oshkosh, WI.; Uncle of Chuck (Nina) Hall, Adele (Brian) Kwiecinski, Libby (Rich) Lesko, Marc, Todd, and Nicole Eckman; great-uncle of Joshua, Madison, and Max Kwiecinski, Arianna Papak, and Oliver Lesko. He is also survived by special friend, Tammy Petruzzi (and family) and extended family members of the Kamauf, Cale, and Mangiapane families. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John, and great nephew Zurich Sagayno Hall.

Walt attended the Allegheny Center Alliance Church on the North Side. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was a Led Zepplin and Beatles fan and aspired to learning to play the guitar one day. His real love was spending time with his family. He was also passionate about animals, having loved his dog, Silky, who he had for 15 years.

He was an electrician and an electrical assembler.  He retired in 2021 but continued helping people with their electrical needs.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at Allegheny Center Alliance Church 250 East Ohio Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to:  St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Walt’s name or directly to Betty to help defray medical expenses.

Walter, it was joy re-connecting with you after so many years. I always smile thinking about our younger days. I know you’re in HIS loving arms smiling down on us. You will it be forgotten! RIP my friend. Our prayers are with Betty and the rest of your family.
