William J. McKinney “Bill”

William J. McKinney “Bill,” on Saturday, September 2, 2017, of Cecil Twp., formerly of Upper St. Clair passed away.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. McKinney & Catherine L. McCrea.

He is survived by his wife Beverly (Smith) and sons Michael G. (Jennifer) McKinney and David W. McKinney.  Grandfather of Aaron and Ava McKinney.

Bill attended Carnegie Tech (Mellon) University and the University of Pittsburgh.  He received his Master’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Bill began his career with the United States Postal Service in design and construction and was the manager for the Eastern Region of the United States.

He later became the manager of Environmental Health and Safety Compliance for the Eastern Region.  He was a Professional Member of numerous Environmental societies and organizations. After retirement, Bill worked as a contractor as the USPS Office of Inspector General where he was a Certified Envirnomental Auditor and Facility Specialist.   He was a professional member of the American Society of Engineers and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.

He began his Postal Career in Pittsburgh, then was transferred to Philadelphia and then to Louisville, KY and returned to Pittsburgh where he retired.
