Wilton L. Matthis, age 87, of Penn Hills, PA and formerly of Hamlet, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Born on April 16, 1935 in Clinton, NC, he was the son of the late Mary and Willie Matthis; beloved husband of Roberta Reid Matthis; father of Gary (Jayanne) Matthis of Fox Chapel, PA; grandfather of Megan and Hope Matthis; brother of the late Connie Hall; and also survived by two nephews. Will enjoyed reading, especially western novels. He also enjoyed the fellowship of the United Methodist Church in Hamlet, NC. When he was raising his family, he enjoyed collecting coins, playing golf and going to the beach to rest and fish.
The burial will take place at a later date at Mary Love cemetery in Hamlet, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church in Hamlet, NC.
