Lane Peters, age 17, of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Canonsburg, PA, passed unexpectedly following an accident while doing what he loved most; riding his motorcycle and listening to music. Born on April 12th, 2006, he is the loving son of Devin and Stephanie (Hutchison) Peters. He is the cherished brother of Reagan and Ella Peters, who considered Lane their “protector,” reflecting the meaning of his Native American name, Ekowabdek, that was given to him by the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. He is also a beloved member of the Peters, Hutchison, Jones, and Slavin families.
Lane could be described as a dedicated son, brother, and friend who was intelligent beyond his years. He took pride in being an amateur Jeep mechanic, as well as passionately demonstrating his commitment to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through coaching and competition. He loved to work with and teach people, showing the utmost care for everyone around him. As his family said, the lyrics of the Lynyrd Skynyrd song, “Simple Man,” embody the character of Lane — an extraordinary person that effortlessly followed a good path.
Family and friends are welcome Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546.
