Memories of Ron, the Lawrenceville Hunky
admonishes you so everyone can complain
but for those he trusts will somewhat refrain
wasn’t normally considered a grumpy man
just took a while for people to understand
sleeping in the sunroom just leave him alone
maybe later, you could help him find his phone
told his tales of endless hunting and fishing
ten minutes later, about something he’d be bitching
enjoyed his war and fire serious and funny stories
his past football, softball and baseball glories
all told and retold again and again
no matter what, it was always new to him
explored the country far and wide
every little town in the countryside
all fits his favorite outfits he always wore
no colors or patterns matching, such an eyesore
stripes and plaids oh so bold
a fashion idol, so we were told
uniquely dapper in his infamous pork pie hat
French connections Popeye had nothing on that
carried around his filled poker pouch
enough change to fill a mother’s couch
loved his poker, hated losing to the women
all the wild cards would leave his head a spin in
a critic who knew every movie and starlet star
lost his drive when he sold his beloved car
loved his precious pup Trixie, a loving pet
but not a substitute for his revered Bernadette
so proud Mary Sue went to Marquette
and Michael taught in D.C, never forget
would hardly connect with son Mark
but could tell his love never lost its spark
shame he had to bear so many crown of thorns
its over now all the suffering that he had borne
REST IN PEACE RON
