John “JC” Stevens

John “JC” Stevens of Cecil passed away with his family by his side on March 31, 2024.

He was born in Charmco, WV on September 1, 1947 to the late Edna Ernestine and Clifford Stevens.

Beloved husband of 37 years to Linda Stevens, loving father to Michael Lanza, Jason (Dawn) Stevens and Kelsey Lynn Stevens, cherished grandfather to Jesse Stevens (Haillie), Parker Stevens, and John Paul Stevens, and dear brother to Dona Weber. JC was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his nephews David Michael Hillen and Wesley Hillen.

JC was a decorated veteran who proudly served the US Airforce in Vietnam.  JC was a dedicated psychiatric aid for many years at Dixmont Hospital and Mayview State Hospital, where he enjoyed spending his career and making life long friendships.  He was an avid golfer who loved to watch his Pittsburgh black and gold sport teams and spend his free time at the beach.  He entertained his friends and family with his funny sense of humor.  JC was a dedicated grandfather who made sure that he didn’t miss a sporting event, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him especially his side kick Sammy Jo.

His family would like to extend their gratitude to his nurses Celeste and Taytum.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 1 to 8 pm. The service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. Burial with full military honors will follow at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
