I was so saddened to hear the news that Joe passed away today. He was such a vital part of our family, more than a friend, a member. Joe always had such a calming, genteel voice, but his face and eyes would light up with excitement when in deep conversation with Dad or my brothers. I can still hear his voice clearly when he would call our house….”hey Jo” to my Mom. I think of him and see his eyes always shining brightly with a smile, always so dapper and handsome. He will truly be missed by all. I am in South Carolina and cannot attend the funeral, but my thoughts and prayers are with you

I wish to offer my condolences to the Astorino Family. Mr. Astorino has been missed at our 7:45 masses on Sunday. He was a nice man and we enjoyed sharing our Italian heritage, including swapping tomato plants. We ushers at St. Benedict will be saying a prayer for him and will rest in the comfort that he is now with his wife.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He was my grandfather, Tony Buchek's best friend. I remember when I was younger going to the mall with my grandparents, Tony & Jennie and they would meet up with Joe and Jennie and walk in the mall. I went with them a couple of times to visit them at their house. They were both the sweetest people. When my grandfather passed away in 1993 they came to the funeral home and helped me so much that day talking to me and helping me through, and then grandma passed away in 2009 - I had such a hard time because I was so very close to my grandparents. I think Joe and grandpap worked in the mine together too. I also did not know that Jennie had passed also. They were truly a wonderful couple and I know they're all together now having the time of their life. My prayers are so much with your family because I know how deeply you will miss them. God Bless You Always.
