Lawrence A. Will, 82 of South Park, formerly of Bethel Park passed away at Whitetail Springs on January 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence A. Will, Sr. and Dorothy Mowry Will. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Adams Will, his high school sweetheart and wife of 61 years. He was a wonderful father to Michael, Julie (Michael) Patterson, Nancy (John) Pipchok and Thomas (Beth), and special PapPap to Zachary (Lynn) Patterson, Emily Patterson, Alexa Will, Anthony Will, Addison Will and Aubrey Will. He is survived by his sister Margaret Will Yotko, “Hope” (the late John) of Bedford, PA and his uncle Charles (the late Hilda) Mowry of Somerset, PA who was like a father to him.
Larry graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley High School in 1956 and earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from George Washington University. He became a Special Agent with the FBI and worked in Washington DC, Memphis, TN, Newark NJ and finally in Pittsburgh, PA, his office of preference. He retired from the FBI in 1990 after 34 years of service.
His calm, unassuming demeanor earned him many friends throughout his life: at the FBI (including The Zippo Club); his neighbors and the couples card group; the St. Val’s Men’s Club and golf league, The Jugoslav Club, and the KOC bowling league. He was the pitcher for the FBI Softball Team into his 50’s. He was active in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed his coin collection, video games and a bit of gambling. He loved to sing and dance, loved country music and had a dry sarcastic wit and a great sense of humor that his grandkids loved. He was a great family man and will be missed by all.
A Mass in Celebration of Larry’s life will take place on January 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Valentine’s Church in Bethel Park, PA.
Please consider a tribute in Larry’s name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association on their website at lbda.org.
