I had the pleasure of teaching Grant, and writing him a letter of recommendation. This was included in that letter, and I think it shows what a wonderful person he was. My deepest sympathies go to his family. "Recently, I had a chance to see an example of the character that Grant possesses, and I feel it exemplifies the kind of person he is. During one of our football pep rallies, the captains of the football team were given the opportunity to throw out a few T-shirts to the assembled students. While others paid most of their attention to the loudest students, or the ones whom they knew, I observed Grant walk over to one of our mentally handicapped students, who was seated on the side of the bleachers, and toss a T-shirt directly to him to make sure he got one. It is likely that I was one of the only people who took note of this; hence, it stands as a perfect example of the adage that, "a true test of a man's character is who he is when no one is watching." And while this may not seem like much to some, I believe that for a teenager to show such kindness, awareness of others, and a desire to make others feel included, is an exceptional act. That student will probably not soon forget the kindness and attention Grant paid to him that day."

We are so saddened by this news. Darlene and family, our love, thoughts, prayers are with you and I pray the God of all peace surrounds you with His loving arms to hold you tight through these minutes, hours, days and weeks. Grant is so special in our hearts. Just today, another memory of the crazy boys' Homecoming pictures from high school came up as memories. Praying for you. Love, Heather, Corey, and family.

What a beautiful description of Grant... he did have a smile that made everything in the world feel innocent and blissful. His positivity was contagious, and his peers respected him so much that they elected him captain of the 2018 football team. As coaches, we were fortunate to work and go to battle with Grant, and deeply appreciate his work ethic and reliability. He will always be a Champion in our hearts. #53 Peters Township Football Coaching Staff

Grant was a sweet spirit who graced this world for to short a time but in that short time he made his presence knowm. He loved Kelly with all his heart and soul. He was a very polite young man with a great laugh and wonderful smile. He did his parents proud. He will be missed but never forgotten. It was a privilege to know him.
