Carlena Y. Harris, 71, of Forest Hills, formerly of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 25, 2023. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 2, 1952, and is the daughter of the late Samuel Motley and Carol Lewis. Beloved mother of Lanesha Lewis; sister of Darlene (Stacey) Taylor, and Lamont (Kim) Lewis; aunt of Raina Kelly, Naomi Taylor, Shawn Edwell, Shay Lewis, Tamara Lewis, and Terrence Lewis; “Nana” to Deaja Williams and Dominique Lewis; friend to many others.

Carlena served as an usher at her church and as a volunteer at their Harvest Food Bank.  She would actively participate in many of the church summer revivals. She spent much of her free time volunteering to help adult children with disabilities or taking soup to the sick and shut in.  Many would remember her signature crotchet dish cloths she would make every Christmas to give to family and friends.

She was a 1974 graduate of the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and worked for over 30 years with American Airlines. She had zest for life and had an outgoing and colorful personality. She was a selfless woman who raised her brothers and sisters after their parents passed at a young age and she cared for everyone who came into her life. She is and will forever be loved and greatly missed by all.

Friends and family will gather on Friday December 8, 2023 at 2:30PM at Petra International Ministries, 235 Eastgate Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.  A repast lunch will follow immediately after the service.  Please send flowers to the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA. To share condolences please visit http://www.pittsburghcremation.com

I remember the day Carlena came to WS and the day she retired. I loved her from the days and hours we sat next to each other. She was one of a kind with her beautiful soul and humor. She had the best personality for reservations. I chuckled all day. God Bless You
