Daniel L. Tracy, age 73, of Moon Township and formerly of Robinson Township, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Born on October 23, 1950, in Pittsburgh, he is the son of the late Frank and Gwendolyn Tracy. Beloved husband for 49 1/2 years to Karen Tracy (Funari); loving father of Matthew (Kristen) Tracy and Adam (Jennifer) Tracy; cherished grandfather of Sophia, Sam, Liam, Callum, and Eila; brother of Alicia (Michael) Crupi and the late Dennis Lange and William Tracy; brother-in-law of Jeanine (the late Bob) Butts; also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews that he adored.

Dan was a proud graduate of West Virginia University and a brother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity in Morgantown, West Virginia. Dan never missed watching any WVU sporting event all while arm chair coaching from his recliner. He enjoyed the WVU Marching Band, many WVU tailgates, sports, science, Jeopardy, wine making, good bourbon, playing his ukulele, and collecting wrist watches. Dan enjoyed his son’s humor, even if he was the brunt of it, sharing many laughs during their daily conversations. Dan also enjoyed following his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities over the years, and being a fun-loving Pap-Pap.

In lieu of donations, please buy a lucky lottery scratch-off ticket in Dan’s memory. We hope you win, because he never did!

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Private arrangements entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.

I am so sorry to learn of Dan's passing. I met him while we were at WVU. He was always laughing and smiling. He was such a fun person to be around. I lost track of him after graduation but recognized him when I saw him at the baseball fields at Burkett Park after Terry and I moved to Robinson Township in 1987. As luck would have it, his granddaughter Eila and our granddaughter Olivia are very good friends. Our condolences to Karen, Matt, Adam, Jennifer and his entire family. Dan will be missed. Rest easy, my friend. Richard and Terry Capp

Our hearts are saddened. Dan was a man of few words but had a great sense of humor. A man who deeply loved his family and they loved him. Dan will be missed by us all.
