Joshua S.  Rush, age 32, of Townsend, Massachusetts, formerly of Venetia, passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2021.

Our deepest sympathy to all, Such a sad time and a shame to lose a fine young man as Josh was. Even though our meetings were few he left a special place in our hearts. My favorite memory was the first time we met him he was wearing a scarf. From that day forward he was always called scarf boy. He took it well and when we'd meet he always knew what was coming. Josh, Thank you so much for your service to our country and may you rest in peace. We will surely miss you. Our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Love, Rex and Claire Haynes

Josh, you were always more than a neighbor, you were a part of our family and will be deeply missed and in our thoughts and memories forever. Thank you for enriching our lives. We watched you grow up from a chubby little kid to become and accomplished athlete and Marine. Always in a good mood, full of life, a bubbling personality, and always fun to talk to. He was also a thoughtful guy, and although he lived 2,000 miles away he would occasionally call and we would talk. Taken too soon Josh.

Pranks 100% was josh. What i remember was an amazing soul who was dearly in love w his wife. Wanted a family more than anything. Ash was all he talked about and if she called convo ended. Our job together at shortys was worst job, but best because i met him. Josh was a hard worker. Cared about his job. Worked hard. Dont think people understand his past. Judged him I am so glad i took time to know him and get close. This man offered his place to me when I had nothing. When we both were down, we thru a call at each other and just bitched. But if my man called or his woman called, convo ended. We needed to b w ones we loved. He was one of my best friends. Only one who understood me. And i think me to him. He touched my heart more than anyone can know. I will forever cherish our convos, but i regret not reaching out the past few weeks i didnt hear from him. He had a heart bigger than life itself. He gave up everything to please and protect others. He was an angel and is an angel now without pain!! I am half i got to meet my angel
