I used to go meetings out in Washington and Canonsburg often when I first got clean and would see Kurt all the time. He was always a bright spot and very welcoming and kind. He was honest and transparent and humble while also being sincerely remorseful about his mistakes. None of us in recovery are above being trapped in the grips. I'm just grateful I got to meet him and see his smiling face. To see someone struggling yet still have the presence of mind of mind to offer comfort to others who were also struggling... well he was just a natural at that. I'm so sorry to his family and close friends and I will pray for peace for all of you. God bless

Marsha, Rich and your families: Deepest Sympathies in the loss of Kurt. Been years since I have seen him but I do remember him from when we growing up and would also run into him over the latter years too when they were living in Houston. He was always very kind and personable. So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that he is truly at peace now. Thoughts and prayers are with you both/all of you in this difficult time.

I've known Kurt for 40 yrs. First in an accident case where he was the driver, and then in several cases where we represented him or his family. In all that time, he was always so pleasant. I have never seen him without a smile on his face. It is tragic that the demons of addiction won the battle he had with them. Our entire office was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I hope he has finally found peace.

Kurt was an usher in my wedding in 1987. He was one of my ex- husband's best friends, as they had grown up together. Kurt was so humble, sincere and caring. He rarely had any unkind words to say about anyone, but instead would make us laugh by making fun of himself, regaling us with the hysterical and daredevilish things he had done. Kurt was optimistic and hopeful that he could pull himself together after the times that he ran into trouble. The world is a dimmer place without his glow and love of life. Go with God, dear Kurt!, Fondly, Laura
