Bill- I am so very sorry to learn of the loss of your beloved Kurt. I cannot imagine your anguish and there is nothing I can say or do to ease your pain. I well remember at our 40th reunion swapping stories about our sons. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers that the day will come when you can find peace and remember Kurt with a smile. Deepest condolences, Melanie (Niewoehner) Kerber

Our hearts are with you. We know that nothing we can say or do will relieve your pain and sadness. Just please remember that Kurt was not any ONE thing or action. For all of us he was so much good and kindness. Kurt will be missed for his smile and easy conversation. As your neighbor, we've seen him from a young teen. Our boys looked at him with awe and fascination. He was so much more than them, the older boy that was always riding his bike and going somewhere. Even with him being so much older than them, he always treated them like they mattered. That makes me smile and so sad at the same time. Kurt didn't just save his kindness for the kids and our pets, he always had a smile and a willingness to be a neighbor to Craig and I, too. His bright eyes and honest smile will always be the Kurt of our memory. It is easy to make the offer of help, but it is so very difficult to ask for it... Please ask. We are here for you.
