Shirley Ann (Polan) Martin

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Shirley Ann (Polan) Martin, 82, of Washington. Shirley passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at home.

She was born September 12, 1940 in Washington, loving daughter of James and Elizabeth Clark. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed every moment with her great-grand children, Gunner and Ellyauna.

She and Ray loved antiquing together and selling at flea markets. Despite a lot of health issues the last few years, she loved to see Gunner play sports, even walking out of a hospital and hitching a ride just to see his football game! She always loved her daily phone calls with her son, Joe that always had her laughing and kept her on her toes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth Clark, sister, Alice Atkins, brother in law’s David Friend and Bill Roberts and granddaughter in law, Christine Martin, nephew, William Yeager.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 64 years, Raymond Martin, her son, Raymond “Joe” (Lisa) Martin, grandson, Raymond “Joey” Martin, great grandchildren, Gunner Martin and Ellyauna Flis, her daughter in law, Crystal Martin (Russ Enlow), her sister, Betty Friend, her sister, Mary Roberts nieces and nephews, Leisa (Bud) Shawley, Diane (Allen) Dulaney, James (Susan) Friend, David (Jennifer) Friend, Beth Isenberg, Chuck (Dayna) Yeager.

There will be a celebration of Shirley’s life at a later date. Her tender, loving soul will always be remembered.
