James R. Gillece, Sr., age 89, of Summerfield, FL, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on March 15, 2023.
He was the son of the late Peter and Marguerite Gillece.

Beloved husband of Theresa Gillece; loving father of James Jr. (Maureen), Thomas (Margaret), Patrick (Debra), Mark (Christie) and Sally; cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12:00 pm at St. Benedict the Abbot Church- St. John XXIII Parish, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 15317.  Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Our deepest condolences to Theresa and family on the passing away of James. James was a kind and hospitable person to us when we met him and spent time visiting with him and Theresa. I know he will be sadly missed by his family and friends and our thoughts and prayers are with all his family.

We only knew Jim the last few years he spent winters in FL, but count Jim and Terri as our very special friends. Jim was soft spoken and happy. Always ready to go for a ride, or have a coffee and share stories. His love for Terri, and family was there,in his smile and voice as he spoke so proudly about all of them. It was a blessing to have met Jim and will truly miss him.
