Leone (Lee) Sherwin
Peacefully and surrounded by her family on Monday May 8, 2023. Born December 2, 1930 and raised in the South Side, she met her loving husband Bill at Sully’s Dance Hall and was married for 57 years until Bill passed. For the last 15 years she has shown strength living on her own and in the Residence of Whitehall.
A loving mother and homemaker, Lee’s greatest joy was spending time with family. She enjoyed weekends, holidays, and vacations with the family. Lee loved to shop with family and friends, especially for clothes and home goods. A stylish dresser that enjoyed interior decorating and playing cards as her hobbies.
Beloved mother of David (Mary), Mark (Marcia), Jeff (Terri) and Todd (Rene’) Sherwin; devoted grandmother of Julie (Brandon) Barg, Scott (Marcy), Matt (Grisell), Ryan (Cassandra), Christopher (Shannon), Courtney (Mike) Trumpower, Colin (Claire), Ashley, and Amanda. Beloved great-grandmother of Cassie, Hayley, Vivian, Adalyn, Sebastian, Estella, Sloane, Londyn, Easton and Chase. Sister of the late Laura Painter.
Friends and family will be received at 9:45AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM on Friday May 12, 2023 at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Dr, McMurray, PA 15317.
Private interment for immediate family will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Albert the Great Church, 3198 Schiek St, Pittsburgh, PA 15227.
