William S. Stauff

William S. Stauff, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2017.  Bill was born on July 22, 1927, the son of the late Ellen and John Stauff.  He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1945 and then served 2 years in the Army (1945-1947).  Bill graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1951. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.  Bill wed his late wife Janet Bartle in 1952 and they were married for 50 years.  

For 35 years he was employed by General Electric and retired in 1987.  Bill was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.  For 7 years, he volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program.  Bill is survived by his wife Freddie; daughter Sue (the late Peter) Miller, son Robert (Patty) Stauff; grandchildren Derek (Rachel) Hahn, Kurt (Jordan) Hahn, Allison (Harley) Doane, Megan (Steve) Bronder; 5 great grandchildren; 4 step-children and 8 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Jack Stauff and Dorothy (Fred) Corey.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Friendship Village.  

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Cremation & Funeral Care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, the EAF fund at Friendship Village or a charity of your choice.
